Low key release of Captivate CS4

I use Captivate a lot at work and personally on various projects. I was surprised to see Adobe’s fairly low key announcement and release of Captivate 4.
Well having finally had time to play with the new version I can see why. I’m not entirely sure it is deserved of a full digit increase in version number. I would call this more Captivate 3.5. Sure lots of neat new features have been added. Like:
- Text-to-speech
- Widgets
- AS3 support
- Single SWF file output
However, all these seem to be fixes to the applications or additions that should have already been there in Version 3.
I would have liked to see:
- A revamped UI (like the rest of the CS4 and parts of the TCS2 range)
- Better drawing tools
- Ability to tween simple objects
I am happy that the eLearning side of the application seems to have improved. Once I have had more time using the application in anger i’ll make some further comments.
