Adobe originally intended to release Acrobat 9 on the 30th of June, but it seems they have let the application out of the bag a few days early.

At work we just updated to Acrobat 8 (less than a month), I’ll have to check if there is any free upgrade policy.

What’s new?

The most interesting new features seems to be the ability to create Portfolios, include Flash content and a decent collaborative environment (This should be handy for review work). Portfolios are a new feature that allows users to group various file types into a PDF document. Portfolios can have welcome pages and incorporate files like MS Office documents, images and multimedia. Portfolios also introduce the neat flip-view as seen in iTunes making the output look extremely professional.
